A house from Steblivka village in Khust district of Zaporizhzhia Region

The house was built in the second half of 20th Century by a local inhabitant Anton Lukach. To build it, he applied suitable wood taken from an old house. The building has two rooms – home and mudroom (khyzha – klit). Two walls of the house are extended by a gallery. Its walls are made of oak, and rood – of smereka boards. From the both sides, the walls are covered by clay, mixed with cut straw and later painted in light-blue color.
The mudroom of the house did not actually play a role of intermediary space between the residential room and open space, but was actually used as a temporary dwelling in summer and as a storeroom in winter. The building is raised above the level of the ground on a stone basement. It protected the house against moisture.
Total area of the building – 55.2 square meters.
